fucking 'ell

I've always considered myself particularly fortunate;
life has been good to me.
But fucking hell!
With the new year came unexpected
trauma, drama and heartache - completely
unexpected of course.
Without sharing sordid details, the events
involved the health and well being of
a very close family member.
Many sleepless nights and thousands of pounds
later things are stabilised.
Anyone who says money doesn't matter
is fooling themselves. Thank goodness I had
the resources to get the care necessary.
Frugality for the win!

Sorry to hear about your difficulties. It has proven to be a 'very interesting' year so far for us as well health wise. I am now struggling with taxes and swearing a lot; I've a feeling this will be the year I cave in an pay an accountant. Money cannot solve all health - or other problems - but it's darned sure good to be able to solve the ones you can!

Hi GK, I was worried about you! So things are on the upswing now? It must have been a long road. Wishing you a lighter load. When I've had tough times, what I've wished for myself is that my troubles simply be limited to the ordinary, every day ones!

Shelley, yes, we are swearing over our returns as well. Agreed, money does not solve all problems, but it comes in handy when seeking help.

ExactingL, things are better. Not completely resolved, but at least a brighter horizon. Yes, so funny how ordinary days look so appealing when caught up in drama…

FrugalS, thanks, I know as a fellow frugal soul you appreciate financial soundness as well!

I'm so sorry to hear the worry you're going through and glad that things are better! Unexpected worries are never easy but agree that at least you had the financial resources to help.
Looking forward to a happy resolution and full recovery soon!
